Not everyone needs to spend a lot of money when they head to Vegas and not all hotels are looking for top dollar.
There are quite a few hotels that will not take every last dime of your money, leading to more money to spend on shows or casino games. If you have any suggestions please add them to the comments section. Some great value hotels are:
The Stratosphere
The Stratosphere is actually the tallest building in the United States west of the Mississippi. It is located at the very north end of the Las Vegas Strip, but it is unmistakable in the Las Vegas skyline. The Stratosphere offers rooms for as low as $40 a night, but they offer luxuries that all the other casinos have and the hotel is rated a four-star hotel on Hotwire.com. This hotel also offers an extremely large gaming floor with some great selections of all your favorite table games and video slots and poker. The reason for the low price is that it is removed from the other casinos on the strip, but a daily bus pass for a few dollars should help you with this problem. The Stratosphere would be one of the top hotels in the city if it weren’t located away from the main section of the Strip. This makes for a world-class hotel with low rates.
Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, the view from the top, and the thrill rides located up there, make for a great view of the city. At least make a visit to this jewel of a hotel.
Bally’s
Bally’s is often overlooked as a place to stay in Vegas. It is certainly lost amongst all of the themed hotels on the Strip. Bally’s is centrally located, connected to Paris and across the street from the Bellagio and Casear’s Palace, and it is impressive on the inside. Bally’s is not much to look at from the outside, as it is a throwback to some earlier days, but the gambling floor and the rooms are worth it. If you hit this hotel at the right time rooms can be around $60 a night. With the nice gaming floor, large sportsbook, nice, large rooms and convenient location, Bally’s can be a steal.
While the Bally’s casino floor is nice, it does not necessarily offer the tourist draw of some of the other hotels, but Bally’s location attached to the Paris hotel and across the street from the Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace offer the opportunity to see those hotels daily, without paying the high rates to stay there. You may also be able to get a Strip view room and have a great view of the famous Bellagio fountains.
Luxor
The Luxor is another hotel that has value because of its location. You may know the Luxor as the pyramid hotel in the Las Vegas skyline, but have you ever noticed its location. The Luxor is the southernmost hotel on the Strip, and this makes it much more affordable. The Luxor has one of the most impressive gaming floors, based on the Egyptian theme, and it also has some first class rooms. Rooms at the Luxor can be under $70 a night during the week. You should also plan on getting a bus pass for a few dollars a day if you are going to stay here because it is a long walk to the other side of the Strip. The Luxor also has a world class spa located on the property if you want to unwind.
Terrible’s
Terrible’s Hotel and Casino is a very hidden gem in Las Vegas. The reason Terrible’s is unheard of is because it is located a few blocks east of the strip. If you don’t mind walking a few blocks every day to get to the action, Terrible’s is the place for you. Rooms can be around $40 a night, and if you stay in their new tower rooms, you can get a Jacuzzi and large plasma television in your room. Terrible’s also has some of the best odds in Las Vegas and a great buffet. If you can’t find an affordable room somewhere on the Strip, don’t hesitate to book a room at Terrible’s.
