America vs. Europe Casino Games
When it comes to casino gaming, the American market has different versions of the games as they are in the European market. People actually have to go to physical buildings or the brick and mortar gaming sites in order to stave their desire to enjoy a game. But as the years went by and as technology evolved, enthusiasts have been given the chance to play their favorite games and new ones from different markets located in different parts of the world.
Different American and European Games
The European and American roulette
One of the most recognized games in the market it the game of roulette and there are two well-known versions of it: The European and American roulette. They’re mostly similar in purpose, but their designs are different. It’s worth noting that the roulette actually came to fruition in Europe and that it has 0 and 00 on the wheel, and this is also the case when the game finally reached American shores. But then there came trouble between the various brick and mortar casino located in Europe and the 00 was eventually taken off the wheel, only retaining the 0. The casino scene in America has retained the 00. Thus came the two identities of the roulette game.
It’s also interesting to know that people have more chances of winning when it comes to the European roulette game than the one in the American market. Why? It’s due to the reality that players of the American version of roulette actually lose bets on 2 numbers from 38, while the players of the European version of that game lose bet on just a single number from a pool of 37. This makes the house edge of the American roulette is 5.26% on the contrary, while the European game’s house edge is at 2.70% only.
Blackjack
Blackjack is also played differently in America and Europe. To start, there are differences between the blackjack games that are played in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, but only minor ones. That is why when you look it up, the online blackjack names are Atlantic City Blackjack and Vegas Strip Blackjack.
Now, the treatment of the hole card is the main difference between American and European blackjack. In the American version, the 2nd card dealt by the dealer actually faces down and they check if the card that faces up is one that has a 10 value or is an ace. It is verified just before the player actually makes any other attempts; the dealer calls it, & the game is over. The player doesn’t need to place another bet for doubling down or splitting.
In the European version, the player’s hole card can only be exposed after their move has been made and not prior to it, which means that if someone stakes splits or doubles after the dealer had called blackjack, then they would lose the additional stake. American blackjack has more chances of winning.
