Online Poker Game Variations
All of these variations boiled down to two distinct versions- the draw poker and the stud poker. Due to its popularity, these two versions don’t even need much description in online casinos.
Draw Poker
In this type of game, each player will wager with 5 card hands before even the round will start. Players can discard unwanted cards in the hand and replace it in drawing a new set of replacements in the deck to complete the 5 card hand requirement thus given its other name the “5 card Draw”.
Moreover, the game will start when players have already chosen the desired combination. There will be 5 faced down cards in the table wherein the players will bet on these cards one at a time in each round. After the preliminary stage, players will start discarding cards while betting on the 5 cards at the table. The goal is to bet and exchange cards and try to get the highest hand in the game. After a brief observation stage in the game, players will start betting for the second and final round. In any case that there are still players remaining, the game will proceed to the showdown stage and just like in any poker game, the player with the highest hand wins the pot.
Stud Poker
In beginning the rounds of the game, each player will be given a definite number of cards which is 3. Betting will not start up front unlike other poker variations. After the cards have been dealt, the first round of betting starts and followed by drawing out the 4th card for each player. After betting on the 4th card, the final card will be dealt which leads to the final or showdown round. The last card dealt is also known as the river.
Another variant of stud poker is the community stud poker wherein the rounds are dealt progressively after each round of betting. However, in this manner the remaining cards in the deal will not be wagered upon by players instead, they are placed in the center for all the players to use it as combinations of the cards at each player’s hand. This version is also one of the most popular games in the online aspect of casinos.
